Art in the Park Camping Adventure

Art can take many forms. There is an art to camping, an art to kayaking, and an art to trout fishing. Then there is creating art. Let’s get together while the dogwoods are blooming and create a little “Art in the Park”. Join in the fun for the Sisters Art in the Park at Roaring River camp out located at Campground #1, Roaring River State Park near Cassville, MO.

This weekend’s main focus is your creativity. If you are a crafty person this weekend has been established to get your creativity flowing with like-minded Sisters. There is NO schedule. This is YOUR weekend to relax, enjoy the scenery, and be creative. What you do is left up to you.

The crafting will focus on Booze Buckets, painting rocks, decoupaging train cases etc. and altered art journaling. There are numerous YouTube videos explaining each in detail. Bring your own supplies and get ready to craft and exchange ideas with other Sisters for a few hours each day.

Other activities include hiking, tour of Roaring River Spring and trout fishing. There is junking in the town of Cassville, 8 miles away. Bring your kayak. Floating is available on Roaring River depending upon river levels. The Roaring River State Park to Highway 86 section of Roaring River in Barry County is 5.8 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. Table Rock lake at Eagle Rock is less than 8 miles away. You will need your own transportation.

Each night we will gather around the campfire for a pot luck dinner. Anything goes….snacks, main courses, desserts. We always have plenty of food and leftovers. We are trying to be more “green” so please bring your plate and utensils. A wash station will be provided. Please be considerate of your hostess and take home each evening anything that you bring to the Potluck.

Sisters on the Try are welcome but must sign an event waiver!
